Licener Single Treatment is an easy-to-use head lice shampoo that eliminates head lice and their eggs (nits) in just one single application. The treatment takes only 10 minutes and no combing is required. The shampoo is based on Neem extract, a natural active ingredient which has been clinically proven to work effectively against head lice & nits.
Licener works by flooding the breathing apparatus of the lice, Licener also infiltrates the lice -eggs, thereby suffocating them. The elimination of lice and eggs in one treatment has been tested extensively. While other anti-lice products are often susceptible to resistance, Licener’s mode of action will not make lice resistant to the product

STEP 1: Apply the Licener shampoo to dry hair.
Use sufficient shampoo to cover all the hair. The amount will depend on the length of the hair but must saturate all hair down to the scalp surface. Massage in well, and then leave for just 10 minutes to take effect. If a number of family members are infested with head lice you should treat them all on the same day with Licener in order to prevent new infestations.
STEP 2: Rinse out the Licener shampoo.
Rinse the shampoo from the hair thoroughly using lukewarm water. As with any shampoo, avoid getting into the eyes and other mucous membranes. It is not necessary to wash the hair with a normal shampoo after treatment with Licener. If desired you can comb the hair after treatment to remove dead lice and eggs but it is not essential.
Head lice
Head lice are bloodsucking insects without wings. They are parasites that feed on human blood. Their bites may cause a scalp to become itchy and inflamed. Head lice and nits can more easily be found behind the ears, along the hairline and in the neck, as these areas are warm and dark. Lice aren’t dangerous and they don’t spread disease, but they are highly annoying and contagious.
Lice eggs (Nits)
The head louse develops in three stages: egg (nit), larvae or nymph and adult. The female louse attaches the eggs to the hair with a kind of glue, no more than 1 mm from the scalp. Eggs stay firmly attached to the hair, which means that the distance from the scalp increases as the hair grows. After a maximum of 10 days, a nymph emerges from the egg. After a maximum of 12 days after birth, this nymph has become an adult louse. The total development from egg to adult louse takes approximately 3 weeks.
Head lice detection
Hair should be checked regularly, ideally once a week. A specific head lice comb can be used to check the hair on head lice, which is more effective than visual inspection. If someone detects a nit, this does not necessarily mean that the person is infested with head lice. Even when you treated your head lice with Licener, the dead nit can remain stuck to the hair until they grow out. It’s wise to treat head lice quickly once the diagnosis is made because they can spread easily from person to person.
Tips to prevent a head lice infestation
Hygiene does not play any major role for lice. 
Head lice strike regardless of whether or not the hair is washed. These lice prevention tips help you in trying to avoid a head lice infestation:
- Head lice cannot jump or fly, but crawl from one head to another when people are in close contact. You can prevent head lice by avoiding that your head touch anyone else’s.
- Additionally, avoid sharing things that have been on or near another person’s head, including hairbrushes, combs, hats, scarves, towels, helmets, pillows, sleeping bags, etc.
- Check the hair for nits and live head lice at least once a week, so you can deal with them before their numbers increase. Keep in mind that although you may find head lice anywhere, they are often found at the back of the head, near the neck and behind the ears.
- Review some head lice pictures to help you understand what you are looking for in the hair, including nits (lice eggs).
- Recognize the symptoms of head lice, which includes an itchy scalp and small red bumps or sores on the back of the neck and scalp.
